New jewellery!

I haven't bought myself new jewellery for ages (I have this bad habit of thinking 'nice, but I could make it myself' and then of course I never do), but this was just too cool to pass up. At first glance it's hard to spot it's a beetle in resin. I'm not sure what species it is but the body gleams like green-gold dichroic glass in the sunlight. Really pretty. And the silver is very nicely worked too. Mine, all mine.

*gloats*

Yep, pretty pretty pretty. [grins]

BTW, just finished chapters 17-19 of THS. Whoohoo! Loved it. Schuldig gets his own entourage. [grin] And the gods were suitably amusing/assholish (I've always thought the Greek gods were high in the bastards stakes). But another cliffhanger! argh - that shade of holding-my-breath-blue looks real bad on me. ;-D

the gods worked? yay! they were giving me trouble but yeah, i've always thought of them as bastards too :) and blue doesn't look bad on you! kidding. i'm sending some more to nin sometime this week. so whenever she gets the chance, she'll upload them.

btw i LOVE my new icons! *huggles icons* they're so much fun!

Well possibly my belief in their obnoxiousness (or should that be Their Obnoxiousness?) grew from the fact Greek History 101 was the only non-language Ancient History paper I ever failed (and personally I think I deserved to scrape through on the Middle Babylonian Akkadian paper, but that's another story). Frankly, Greek history bored me and they were real wankers to their women. Lots of pretty art though.
Yah! Stopping holding my breath now.
Thanks. [smile] If you want some more at any time just drop me an idea or quote.

*wants*

did you buy in london?

[identity profile] toscas-kiss.livejournal.com 2003-08-26 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
Yep! Got it at Camden Markets. There's a stall in the small outdoor courtyard in the inner market. Having said that, they tend to change every week cos the stall allotment is done by lottery, but I can tell you it was a South American lady who sold silver jewellery. It only cost £13 which I thought was astoundingly cheap. They had other things like bees, some moths and I think a very small scorpian, but I wanted the shiny. :-)

I love dicroic glass *_*. That's a lovely ring. May it bring you years of enjoyment.

Yes, I like dichroic glass a lot too. Pity it's so darn expensive! I have a very nice big blue/green rectangular fused glass pendant in it, which I always get comments on. Maybe someday I'll get around to learning how to do that.
Thanks!

Oh that sounds lovely!

I saw a ring with moon and stars in it once. I Just when I'd saved up enough money, the people selling it ran out too. *fumes*

Ah well. Someday ^_~.
