What a crappy morning so far.
My Natural Wave keyboard died on me, so I'm currently using a normal one until Support can get me a replacement. It's small and sqaushed and hurts my wrists. You forget how unnatural typing on a straight keyboard feels.
My project file corrupted so I had to return to last night's backup. I have no idea why the useless piece of drek program did that. When in doubt, blame MicroSoft.
Worst of all, I got an email saying one of the boys I grew up with died last weekend of a brain annuerism. He'd been on dialysis for years and they hadn't actually expected him to live past his teens, so every extra year was a blessing he made the most of. He was a really lovely person, not academically bright but a sweet guy whom it was hard to find something to dislike about. We'd drifted apart due to university/working life but kept up with each other's lives in that vague way you do with the people you spent your childhood with. It's a real downer to hear he's died and I wish I was there to attend his funeral and get drunk with all my old friends remembering all the crazy things we did in high school.
Blah. I'm going to go trip over to The evil That Is eBay and do some Retail Therapy.

Date: 2003-08-13 06:30 am (UTC)My boss at the last place I worked wanted to go all ergonomical and one night after hours changed everyone's keyboards...
O______O
I have been using this keyboard style since I learned to type... change me and you get no work done, because I'm constantly having a love affair with the delete and backspace keys cause there is a typo every 3 seconds!
I hate those keyboards, they are the devil!
><
And *hugs* I think we've all had past friends leave us and we start thinkg "God I wish I had done more... before..." Been there done that.
It's very sad, regrets, and you have my sympathy.
*hugs*
