Tea, Paint, Beer and Tea blipverts
Feb. 25th, 2004 03:40 pmGot home last night to run into a political shitstorm-in-a-teacup from my medieval renactment group. Four hours, several phonecalls, a couple of emails and one omelette later it was pacified into something resembling adult behavior.
Bangs head on desk.
Argh! I HATE POLITICS!

On the bright side, after this weekend I now have a wholly painted livingroom in a pale pale cream colour (the paint name was 'Pale Linen' which is fairly accurate). I'm very pleased with it - it's light enough to keep the room nice and airy, but has a warm glow about it that's relaxing and slightly sunny and much more cheerful than plain white. The colour doesn't contrast too much with the white ceiling either.
I'm going to paint the hall in white silk emulsion this weekend, then call the movers to get my stuff out of storage. I still haven't decided on the bedroom colours - I'm tossing up between forrest green with teal blue, or scarlet with gold.

Drinkies tonight with some NZ friends at the Lowlander Cafe Bar at Covent Garden. They have fruit beer! Including my absolute favorite, Bellevue Framboise, a heavenly smelling, absolutely scrumptious raspberry lambic beer. They have some other delicious sounding beers and wines (including champagne beer!) and what appears to be a decent menu, so I'm rather looking forward to it (quite aside from the pleasure of seeing my friends of course). For all you Londoners, here's the link:

Hmmm, that's just around the corner from the Drury Tea Company...
