Tosca's Kiss

I thought the first Scarpetta book was good, then thereafter I found my dislike of the character, her attitude and morals, growing until I just couldn't read them any more. I read 4 or 5. If she's as MarySue as is reported, that's a worry! (though Cornwell sounds like a bit of a flake - didn't she spend millions trying to prove whom Jack the Ripper was or something like that?)
