daegaer. Interests: Ancient History, Babylon, Theology,and Women's Studies.
Images used: Bricks from the Ishtar Gate, cylinder seal showing the goddess Ishtar and priest/ess, stela relief depicting Ishtar, and the cuneiform for munus 'woman'. Sorry, couldn't remember the cuneiform for 'goddess' - it's been over 15 years since I learnt Middle Babylonian (which I failed, anyway!).
