Book #23 - Scorpia by Anthony Horowitz
Apr. 26th, 2004 02:21 pmBook #23: Scorpia: Alex Rider #5 by Anthony Horowitz
My Rating: 6/10
Category: Young Adult's Fiction, 12+
Still reeling from the discovery he made about his father, teenage M16 superspy Alex Rider is determined to find out more. He travels to Italy where he manages to infiltrate the world of the beautiful Claudia Rothman - a member of the crime organization, Scorpia.
Anther episode in the 'James Bond Jnr' book riproaring children's spy/adventure series. Formulaic, but enjoyable, and featuring a bit more emotional depth than the other stories. Once more, I felt as though a great deal - themes, character development, etc, had been skated over which could have turned the book from a pastiche into something more substantial. But still, an enjoyable book and one that will keep adventure-loving boys and girls reading. I didn't rate it as highly as the others because I didn't like [mild spoiler] the cliffhanger ending. [/mild spoiler]
