Blipverts - mostly about moving

I just do not frakking believe this! At this point, I'm past Outraged and moving rapidly into Resignation.

I rang my lawyer this morning because he hadn't rung me back on Friday as he said he would (big surprise), only to find that:

1. My first lawyer, Lawyer #1, is still on holiday until next week (he told me a week).


2. His stand in, Lawyer #2, has now left the company!!! Something he didn't mention to me last week while we were talking.

So I am now on Lawyer #3. Whether she will actually be any more reliable is as yet unknown. She said she'd ring me back this afternoon to inform me whether the seller consented to my terms. So we shall see.

Moral of the story for those of you living in the UK: Never ever ever use Pitmans Solictors. I don't recommend them in the slightest.

I ache all over this morning. And I've strained my left calf muscle. Ouch.
At the moment I would kill for a hot bath.

So yesterday I spent packing the storage room/hall. I still haven't packed the linen cupboard and suitcase storage though. Enthusiasm and energy gave out about 8:30 pm.

I thought about cramming the next few evenings with packing and thought "Stuff it!", and took an extra day's holiday this morning. So I now have Thursday and Friday off to finish the job. I also have to pack my bedroom yet (which is a big job, but won't be the nightmare that the lounge and kitchen were) and the bathroom (which fortunately is an hour-long job at most). I'll clean the flat whilst I'm staying there next week.

Some friends who have a spare bedroom have very kindly offered to put me up for the first week of November. After that I'll just shuffle around my friends for a couple of weeks (hopefully no longer!) until the purchase is sorted out. Worst comes to worst I can put up at a B&B (which would actually turn out cheaper per week than my current rent anyway). Several of my friends seemed rather enamoured by the idea of me cooking in exchange for board though, so I doubt that will be necessary unless I get the screaming heebeejeebees from living with other people again. Thank goodness for culinary skills though.
