Anytime someone reports a physical threat of this sort, they have to check it out -- would have happened under any president, pre-Patriot Act, etc.. If you look at anniesj's followup post, (http://www.livejournal.com/users/anniesj/331475.html) she's got a very level-headed and what I think is appropriate reaction to the whole thing.
